The apartment building originally had five units. This project took the three and converted them into a single-family home. Since the old apartments were designed for a single occupant, each unit was diminutive. The re-design combined the three into one by removing the partition walls, creating ample living space for the family.

Standing on a small lot in a densely populated area, the sun never reached sufficiently on the ground floor. Our solution was to relocate the living room on the second floor where natural light reaches with relative ease and orient it towards a newly installed patio.

The bedrooms on the first floor is designed in such a way that they can be reconfigured in the future should the family structure change.

Through this successful renovation a fifty years old apartment block was reborn into a brand-new home for this happy family.
